Wars have been fought, and civilisations have risen and fallen over spices: a scarce and prized commodity, shaping global trade and economies throughout history. Dominating the spice trade yielded great power and influence that would fuel the development of nations. Similarly the $SPICE token embodies scarcity and power, securing and governing Spicenet, and aligning all actors within the ecosystem. $SPICE must be staked by validators to reap the benefits of network participation. Staking not only secures the Spicenet ecosystem but also serves as a transparent mechanism for ranking the importance of actors within the network. This allows Spicenet to give the most power to those that stake the most $SPICE, aligning network success with participant intentions with token value.

Not a validator? not to worry. Users can delegate stake to validators in the network to receive the economic advantages of SPICE without the responsibility of securing and shaping Spicenet.
